Expected Mandatory Subscription to the National Health Insurance of Korea
We heard that all foreigners who stay in Korea more than 4 months SHOULD be
subscribed to the National Health Insurance from 16th July, 2019.
The university has NOT received an offical letter from the National Health Insurance Service until now so we are not able to notice any specific information to you.
While we have waited for their official information, they sent a letter which is same as
the attached file to all of you.
We will inform any updated information regarding on it as soon as we receive
information from National Health Insurance Service.
Please refer to the brief information about the expected mandatory subscription.
1. The subscription to the National Health Insurance will be mandatory to all
foreigners who stay in Korea more than 4 months from this July.
2. PSPS students will be stayed in Korea more than 4 months, therefore, all of you
may have to join the insurance.
3. The insurance premium is calculated for each household according to income and
property so the payment will be around KRW 113,050 per month.
