<The 1st scholarship award ceremony of “KIM Ji-young Scholarship Association” in the name of late KIM Ji-young alumnus of YU College of Pharmacy was held>

“This is a scholarship that is more precious than any other money that conveys the will of seniors. We will make sure to achieve the dreams that our seniors couldn’t achieve!”

A scholarship award ceremony was held for juniors to carry on their dreams on behalf of seniors who passed away early without being able to fulfill their dreams.

The first scholarship award ceremony was held for “KIM Ji-young Scholarship Association” in the name of late KIM Ji-young alumnus (Student ID 02) of YU College of Pharmacy was held.Ten juniors received the scholarship certificates and pledged to carry on the will of the deceased senior.

In November of last year, the parents of the late KIM Ji-young visited YU and deposited KRW 100 million to be used for their daughter's juniors.Especially, the development fund they deposited gave a big resonance because it contained the meaning that KIM Ji-young left during her lifetime.After graduating from YU College of Pharmacy, she worked as a researcher for a large and famous pharmaceutical company before passing away in October of last year while struggling with an incurable disease.

She has stated several times that she wants to help her juniors realize their dreams and that, if she dies, she will dispose of her property and use it for her juniors.Her parents conveyed that will to the university.

The first scholarship award ceremony for “KIM Ji-young Scholarship Association” was held in 2023 General Assembly of College of Pharmacy Alumni Association held in Hotel Laonjena, Daegu, on June 24. On this day, her parents KIM Seong-rae and PARK Soon-ja also attended the scholarship award ceremony and encouraged the scholarship students.A total of 10 students were selected as the first scholarship students and received scholarship certificates and scholarships. YU College of Pharmacy Alumni Association selected her as the thirteenth recipient of the “Proud YU Pharmacist” in order to share her noble will and convey her role model to society.
